Dark Sun: The Wayward Chronicles
Situated almost exactly geographically between Tyr and Urik, Urath is a little more than a scraping of life that has clung together. Bordered on the north and west by rocky wastelands with Alluvial sands to the south and east. Home to people hardened by the desert, Urath appears unfriendly at first glance, typically due to the fact that it pays tribute to both of its neighboring city-states, and the cost is usually in water.
Urath does have an open marketplace that is usually at least a little busy, no matter the day. Off days and arena days have little importance out here. Another feature of note is the puddle. Urath contains a small, slow-fed spring that is the heart of the community. The water is often of terrible quality, but the price is right, especially compared to the rates at the tavern or the water merchants who pass through.
Urath does have one family that has done well for itself. The Darvessis have managed to collect a great deal of wealth through a combination of farming, water selling, and other diversified interests. Most of the other inhabitants spend their days working for them or giving them yet more money.
